About the Host – ELEPAP

Founded in 1937, ELEPAP (Rehabilitation for The Disabled) is Greece’s oldest children and adults with disabilities. For nearly nine decades, ELEPAP has been empowering individuals to achieve greater independence, participation, and quality of life through comprehensive rehabilitation, education, and family-centered care.

Today, ELEPAP operates six rehabilitation centers across Greece—in Athens, Thessaloniki, Chania, Ioannina, Volos, and Agrinio—providing multidisciplinary services to more than 1,000 children every day. Since its establishment, the organization has supported over 100,000 children, primarily with cerebral palsy and other motor disabilities, helping them reach their full potential and become active members of society.

At the heart of ELEPAP's work is the belief that every child deserves equal opportunities, regardless of financial, social, or cultural background. Its holistic approach combines medical rehabilitation, therapeutic interventions, special education, psychological support, and family counselling, ensuring continuous care from infancy through adulthood. Recognizing that rehabilitation extends beyond childhood, ELEPAP also develops programs that promote independent living, education, vocational training, and social inclusion for adults with disabilities.

By fostering strong partnerships built on trust, collaboration, and compassion, ELEPAP supports not only each individual but also the wider community surrounding them. Guided by its vision of a society where every person with a disability has access to the care and opportunities they deserve, ELEPAP continues to create pathways toward independence, inclusion, and lifelong participation—helping every individual take their own meaningful “Steps of Life.”
